Summary:
The Oak Hill School seeks a K–6 Spanish Teacher who will design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish language and culture instruction that fosters communicative proficiency and deep cultural understanding. This role emphasizes immersive experiences, authentic cultural exploration, and the development of cultural competency and awareness across K–6 grade levels. The teacher will inspire curiosity about Spanish-speaking cultures, build empathy and global awareness, and create meaningful connections between language learning and real-world cultural contexts.

Specific Spanish Teacher Job-Related Responsibilities:
- Introduce students to the joys and beauties of culture and language learning
- Plan and implement the full Spanish curriculum, grades K-6
- Exhibit knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach the varying developmental levels of the elementary grade student
- Design authentic cultural learning experiences (e.g., celebrations, literature, music, arts, culinary traditions) that deepen students’ understanding of diverse Spanish-speaking communities.
- Integrate cultural competency frameworks and global awareness into the curriculum, highlighting perspectives from Latin America, Spain, and the broader Hispanic world.
- Use engaging, innovative, and creative methods of teaching, including project-based learning and design thinking projects, to thoughtfully enhance language instruction and connect students with native speakers and cultural contexts.
- Use a variety of methods to assess student learning and to inform instruction
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development

Work for this position will take place primarily in a classroom. Educational Background and Work Experience:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant subject area, OR a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education
