Position Information: Under the general direction and supervision of the Financial Administrative Officer, the Placement Test Coordinator conducts and manages all placement examinations for undergraduate majors in the departments of Comparative Literature & Languages and Hispanic Studies. This position is responsible for processing placement test billing conducted via Banner online system. This position also prepared packets for proctors. This position also provides administrative support answering front desk questions, disseminates mail, and monitors fax machine for incoming faxes.
The full salary range for the Placement Test Coordinator is $22.73 - $31.86 per hour. However, the budgeted salary range for this position is up to $24.50 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Ability to effectively, professionally, and tactfully interact and communicate, both orally and in writing, with students, faculty, staff and visitors. Skill in independently composing letters, memos, reports, and other written communication materials using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, text editing, and proofreading skills.
Skill in accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail. Skill in organizing tasks, documents and materials with efficiency and accuracy.
Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) or other equivalent software, the internet, e-mail messaging, and web-based software applications.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Advanced computer knowledge with the ability to understand and learn new on-line programs.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a service environment that is subject to frequent interruptions.
Skill in setting priorities that accurately reflects the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the applicable University of California policies governing areas related to the responsibilities of the position.
Knowledge of the applicable federal and state regulations governing areas related to the responsibilities of the position including the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Ability to extract, compile, analyze, and present pertinent data effectively.
Demonstrated experience with online Student Information Systems (SIS+)

This position also provides administrative support answering front desk questions, disseminates mail, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities DescriptionPercent Time
Language Placement Exams:
- Work with language coordinators on any procedural changes - Download and format test registration rosters for each session - Determine eligibility for both taking tests and receiving scores - Proctoring approximately 77 computer based exams including Spanish, French, German and Russian - Schedule computer based exams for the campus - Work with individual language graders for Comp. Lit. - Input placement scores - Billing (via Banner) - Knowledge of UCR policy and procedures governing placement tests - Answer student and staff inquiries about placement process, score rationale, special situations

Secondary Support: - Support and Field incoming front desk questions and calls from faculty, staff, students, and the community. - Disseminate mail twice daily. - Monitor the fax machine for incoming faxes. - Filing of all transactions into appropriate departmental files. - Monitor and maintain a departmental email account. - Processes departmental trouble tickets, such as but not limited to, printing and reprographics requests, parking requests, and ITS request.
