Rochambeau, The French International School of Washington, DC (Rochambeau), has an opening for a Math Teacher Secondary School – Full Time for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will consist of a full-time assignment teaching French Baccalaureate Mathematics as well as IB mathematics.

Salary Information: The salary range is $49,911-$109,469 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale. Teachers will be hired and employed in the highest category of teaching staff to which they are entitled in accordance with the degrees and certifications that they hold and the subjects and levels that they teach.

Job Summary:
The position would involve teaching Mathematics through the senior school in the French Bac section and/or in the IB section. The Math classes are taught in French in the French Bac section and English in the IB section.
As an international school, we will consider applications from candidates who:
Plan for and provide secondary-level classroom instruction in Math following the French Curriculum and the IB curriculum.
Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess students’ academic progress
Develop curriculum, instructional materials, assessment tools, and lesson plans according to the needs and interests of students, fulfilling the criteria of the French curriculum and IB curricula.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students, creating a learning environment to achieve academic focus and success.
Select books and instructional aids appropriate to the interests and maturity level of students.
Evaluate students’ academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health and maintain accurate and complete student records.
Provide remedial programs for students who have not achieved language competency commensurate with their potential. Meet with department colleagues to evaluate student placement test results, monitor and assess student performance throughout the year to determine each student's current placement level, and discuss other departmental concerns.
Participate in appropriate in-service programs or other professional development, parent- teacher conferences, and faculty meetings as required or requested. Perform all administrative and teaching duties in a bilingual environment.
Participates in parent-teacher conferences as required or requested and attends teachers’ meetings.
Participates in curriculum and other developmental meetings. Participates in appropriate in-service programs or other professional development.
Evaluates student performance, maintains records for individual students, and prepares report cards each trimester.
Acts as liaison between students, parents, and school staff as regards the Secondary school Math program.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in Mathematics or a related field.
Certification in Mathematics is strongly preferred (certifié(e) or agrégé(e) from the French Ministry of Education or an equivalent teaching certification from a francophone country).
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
For those teaching in the IB track, familiarity with the IB Mathematics curriculum is essential, and training from an IB organization or partner in Mathematics is highly preferred.
Candidates with a strong academic background, such as a university degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or related fields, and solid teaching experience in this subject area will also be considered.
Equivalent education and experience can substitute for all minimum qualifications, except where legal requirements apply (e.g., visa, license, certification, or registration).
