Inly School seeks a compassionate and engaging Spanish Teacher to join our community starting August 2026. The Spanish Teacher will teach students Fourth through Eight Grade, fostering language acquisition in an engaging, hands-on manner. This part time role will not only provide a vibrant learning experience but will also immerse students in the joy and depth of Spanish language and culture.
Inly School is an independent PreK–8 Montessori-plus School located in Scituate, MA that serves over 200 students from 20 South Shore towns and is deeply rooted in Montessori, child-centered, and inclusive educational practices. Position Structure
This is a part time Spanish teaching position serving students in Upper Elementary and Middle School. The Spanish Teacher is responsible for delivering a rigorous, vertically aligned world language program that builds toward language mastery and prepares students for secondary school expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Spanish instruction in the upper grades becomes increasingly structured and academic in nature. Students engage in explicit instruction and practice across all language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—while developing accuracy, fluency, and confidence in preparation for advanced coursework.
Design and deliver structured, standards-informed Spanish instruction for Upper Elementary and Middle School students.
Provide explicit instruction in vocabulary acquisition, grammar, sentence structure, reading comprehension, and written expression.
Develop and implement assessments that measure language proficiency and track student progress over time.
Prepare middle school students for secondary school placement assessments, with the goal of placement into Spanish II or higher when appropriate. Establish clear academic expectations and classroom routines that support accountability, effort, and mastery.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to integrate Spanish instruction into interdisciplinary projects and schoolwide initiatives.
Maintain clear documentation of curriculum scope, sequence, and assessment data to support continuity and articulation with secondary schools.

A Bachelor’s Degree (in Spanish, Education, or a related field); Master’s preferred.
At least three years of teaching experience, ideally with diverse age groups and/or in a Montessori setting.
Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
