Crane Country Day School seeks a temporary, full-time Upper School Spanish Teacher for the Spring 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be an energetic and outgoing individual with a proven ability to collaborate and partner with other members of the Crane Staffulty. We are seeking an individual with strong experience teaching Spanish. A demonstrated ability to work with and engage a diverse range of learners and families is essential to success in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach Spanish in a developmentally appropriate manner to 6th and 7th grade students
Plan and design curriculum and teaching strategies that align with Crane’s mission and philosophy of providing an experiential education that meets the needs of all students
Manage all assessments, enter student grades and write end-of-semester comments for all students
Serve as a seventh grade advisor/homeroom teacher for ten students
Participate in all advisory activities
Teach or co-teach one elective class (E-Block)
Manage and supervise a dynamic classroom environment where all students are seen and valued
Communicate and partner with parents to enhance the growth and development of students
Apply anti-racist, liberatory practices and principles in all aspects of the role, from classroom management to curriculum development
Demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Collaborate with other Staffulty members to support student growth
Monitor and report on student growth and progress
Continually seek educational opportunities to develop professional knowledge and skills
Attend all required staff meetings and special events
Other duties as assigned by the Head of Upper School and/or Head of School
Requirements and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject matter required.
Fluency in speaking, reading and writing Spanish.
Experience teaching Spanish.
Physical and Other Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking in classroom and throughout campus
Occasionally lift 15-45 pounds
Regularly sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children
Work in person on-site
Background investigation required via Live Scan.
TB assessment required for employment in CA schools.
