Summary of the Position: World language instruction is a core academic area at The Montgomery Academy. We offer classes in Spanish, French, and Latin.  Students currently have the opportunity to begin full-time language study in the 7th grade, and students must complete three years of study in a single language in the Upper School.  We offered introductory sections of Spanish through AP level Spanish courses. For this position, we are seeking someone to teach two to three sections of Spanish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach 2-3 sections of Spanish (most likely Spanish III)
• Maintain a course website 
• Effectively integrate appropriate educational technology into the curriculum
• Work closely and effectively with other World Language teachers 
• Integrate the language of leadership and character development into the classroom

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or applicable field, advanced degree preferred
• Independent school teaching experience in Spanish preferred
• Experience in foreign language pedagogy, particularly in a communicative approach
• Creative, enthusiastic and growth-mindset approach to 21st century learning
• Experience in the use of educational technology
• Commitment to holistic student development
