Position Description The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations and the College at the University of Chicago invite applications for a one-year position as Assistant Instructional Professor in Chinese language for the academic year 2025–2026, with a start date of September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a non-renewable, one-year appointment to fill an immediate curricular need. Responsibilities include both teaching and service duties. Teaching consists of six language courses across three quarters at all levels of the language. Service duties may include assisting with the training of course assistants; outreach and cultural activities; or assistance with student placement in the Chinese language.
