The Holton-Arms School seeks a collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join our vibrant Upper School in the World Languages Department for the 2025-26 school year. This is a full-time 10-month position.

Position Overview
The World Languages Department provides students with the opportunity to develop their intercultural competence by deepening their skills and competencies around language proficiency and global awareness. Students explore diverse cultures and perspectives as part of a supportive and engaging community, learn to be strong collaborators in shared creative work and gain self-directed learning skills. The World Languages program offers courses in Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish through level 5.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Upper School Spanish classes
Communicate regularly and effectively with students and parents
Work collaboratively with other teachers in the World Languages Department, division colleagues, and administrators
Provide additional support outside of class time, as needed, during the school day
Serve as an advisor, facilitating weekly meetings to promote student well-being
Attend regular meetings, including in-house professional development
Participate in supervisory and extracurricular duties, including chaperoning events, monitoring study halls and common areas, and parent events.
Contribute to the Upper School community through advisory, leading clubs, or other student programming
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or Spanish, with a graduate degree preferred
Experience teaching at the upper school level, preferably at an all-girls school.
Understanding or growing knowledge of competency-based teaching and learning
Experience embedding Social and Emotional Learning, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, and Global Competencies into their curriculum
Global travel experience is preferred
Understands language learning as an integral component of global competence
Believes language learning is something everyone can do
Commitment to continued professional learning
Coaching experience is desired. Priority Varsity coaching opportunities include Basketball, Soccer and Lacrosse.
Salary and Benefits Information
The average salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000, the exact salary to be determined based on education and experience. We use a step scale to determine teacher salary. Early career teachers are initially compensated less than the listed salary range and highly experienced teachers are compensated more than the listed salary range. Additional stipends are available for coaching, certain club sponsorship, and significant commitments outside of the classroom. Benefits include health insurance with a generous employer contribution to medical, dental, and vision; life and disability insurance; 403b retirement savings with an employer match and non-elective contribution; employee assistance program, tuition remission for eligible children; professional development opportunities; paid parental leave after one year of employment; paid sick and personal days; and lunch is provided on school days.
