The Department of Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern Languages at San Diego State University seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member in Japanese at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2024. The candidate is expected to have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and the ability to teach in Japanese and English.   The ideal candidate will pursue an active research agenda in Japanese language, linguistics, culture, or literature, and demonstrate potential for substantial contributions to the field.
