French Teacher –Signature School seeks a dynamic individual to teach all levels of French for the 2023-’24 academic year. This is a full-time position in a program that requires that students take four years of the same language in order to develop mastery. The ideal candidate will be able to teach French I-V in an immersion-based program. This individual will be responsible for guiding students in the fundamental components of language acquisition (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in the target language and for integrating into the classroom literature and cultural components from the francophone world. Signature School faculty and staff are passionate about working with high school students and colleagues in this open-admission public charter school, chartered for the motivated student. Signature is proud to be an International Baccalaureate Programme school and an Advanced Placement Capstone Program school. Located in Evansville, Indiana, and serving grades 9-12, Signature is ranked the number three best high school and the number three best charter in the nation by US News & World Report, as well as the second most challenging high school in the country by the Jay Mathews (of the Washington Post) Challenge Index.
M.A. in French preferred; experience living in a French-speaking country a plus. Must have Indiana certification in French or ability to secure this certification promptly.
