This is an exempt level position. The selected finalist’s salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal pay structure, and our overall compensation package. The Language Center is a community of learners and teachers in a technology-rich space for languages at the College. The Director is charged with fostering and enriching this learning community of students and faculty, and providing administrative oversight and management of the Language Center to ensure its vibrant and effective functioning with exceptional service to those who use it. The Director develops and extends the College's capabilities for teaching and learning with digital media and educational technologies to enhance language learning and teaching and encourages innovative use of learning and teaching technologies.
This is a .75 FTE fully benefit eligible exempt position; working 33 hours per week over 11 months (annually August through June). Position Grade: 13.

Advanced degree in applied linguistics, language acquisition, or a modern language. Ph. D. preferred.
Ability to work effectively with multiple language departments with different needs, and to work with faculty to find the best solutions to pedagogical and technological needs.
Experience in teaching language and use of current technology in language instruction.
Familiarity with technology-enhanced pedagogies for language instruction and with the technologies that support these pedagogies.
