The Middle Division World Languages Department is seeking an energetic and experienced French teacher for grades 6 – 8. The Middle Division is all about its students and the important transitions facing our students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Highly enriched with endless possibilities, the program is both structured and flexible. Within a supportive atmosphere, we encourage our students to take risks as they involve themselves in the world around them. Preparation for enrollment in a rigorous secondary program contributes to both the daily workload, the intensity of the attention to one’s studies, the need for students to self-regulate by 8th grade, and the pacing of the academic year.

The successful candidate must be proficient in reading and speaking both English and French; possess strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills; demonstrate experience integrating technology into classroom instruction; and have a minimum of three years middle school classroom teaching experience. The candidate should be committed to and experienced in creative pedagogical practice, teamwork, and the sharing of ideas. Our teachers also serve as advisors, so candidates should also be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. Strong interpersonal skills coupled with knowledge and understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional development of adolescents is essential.
