Mercer Island High School is a public 9-12 high school located on Mercer Island,  a residential island 10 minutes from downtown Seattle, one of the country’s most diverse
and dynamic cities.  Mercer Island has been rated as one of the best public school districts in the state of Washington. 
 
Responsibilities:
This position requires a strong academic background in the target language. Spanish
endorsement certification is required. Familiarity with language instruction standards, ACTFL Proficiency based teaching, and experience with using technology in the classroom
is desired.

Qualifications:
Mercer Island High School seeks dynamic individuals committed to teaching the whole child. Candidates must possess demonstrated competence and experience in the content area and pedagogy, as well as demonstrated written and spoken fluency in the target language.  ACTFL Proficiency scores of Advanced Low are a requirement, preference is
given to advanced-mid or higher. Candidate must have a valid Washington state teaching certificate and Spanish endorsement. Ability to teach all levels, including AP, is a plus.
Successful candidates will have flexibility, energy, enthusiasm, high expectations and an understanding of the developmental needs of High-School aged students. Details on Washington state teacher certification are available at:
