Seeking full-time specialist in the instruction of Spanish as a foreign language. One year contract (sabbatical replacement), for academic year 2022-23. Native or near-native proficiency required. Ph.D. and specialization in Second Language Acquisition and language-teaching methodology preferred; candidates with an MA in Second Language Acquisition or Pedagogy also considered. We seek a candidate with dynamic language teaching skills, demonstrated excellence in various levels of Spanish instruction and expertise in technology-assisted instruction. Course supervisory experience is a plus. Primary duties include teaching two or three language classes per semester, coordinating multiple-section language courses, and training and supervising Brown graduate student instructors. Other responsibilities include administrative tasks and collaboration with other language faculty in programs that complement and support our language courses.
