Position begins August 2022
We are seeking a full-time faculty member for the Language Department in the upper school, to teach 5 sections to grades 9-12, beginning in August 2022 of the 2022-23 school year.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Teach all levels of French; from novice to advanced in multiple high school grade levels.
- Collaborate and work cooperatively with all other members of the department to design engaging, quality lessons which include formative and summative assessments and emphasize the three modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational).
- Establish a classroom environment conducive to student learning and achievement.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Embrace and utilize relevant educational technology in second language acquisition.
- Manage and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of three years of classroom experience as a high school French teacher preferred.
- Understanding of and experience using the ACTFL standards and proficiencies preferred.
- Experience teaching multiple levels of French
- Native or near-native fluency in French.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development with respect to curriculum initiatives and pedagogy.
Candidates must be comfortable teaching in a college preparatory environment and must demonstrate confidence, flexibility, and a student-focused classroom approach.
