WHAT WE SEEK
We are looking for a strong Product Manager to envision, define, build and expand the Next Generation Spanish product that will revolutionize the way the Spanish language is taught in schools and districts across the country. If you are passionate about the importance of World Languages education, are a native speaker of Spanish who has studied the language formally, and love working on and delivering cutting-edge EdTech products, this position is designed for you.
The Product Manager, Spanish works in collaboration with the Director of Product Management and the SVP of Product World languages to drive the vision and the strategy of the Next Gen Spanish product. The Product Manager ensures that the product meets specific needs for key markets by planning and carrying out user and market research, creating prototypes and testing them, introducing changes based on feedback and iterating until the product is ready to make a difference in students lives.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
Strategize, build, maintain and communicate product visions and the product roadmap.
Rigorously prioritize opportunities, needs, and resources based on business growth goals, and communicate those priorities.
Conduct user research, market analysis, usability testing and other research and discovery to enhance products and their market positioning.
Conduct competitive analysis and analyze internal and external data to identify the key product elements and experiences that keep us ahead of the competition.
Work with the Director of Instructional Design and the Director of Content Management to help apply best instructional design practices and innovative pedagogical approaches to the design of the Next Gen Spanish product.
Work with design, project management, and engineering to draft user stories, balancing needs from design with technical feasibility, understanding the dependencies and coordinating the timeframe for implementing and launching new features and enhancements.
Take complex projects and communicate information in a digestible manner, based on audience.
Lead with a growth mindset, recognizing and developing innovative concepts that keep us growing.
WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK
Native command of Spanish, with excellent written and oral communication in both English and Spanish.
5 - 10 years working in Product Management.
BA degree required; Masters in Spanish, Spanish Education or related fields a plus.
Certified Product Owner by a renowned agency, a plus.
K12 EdTech experience required; K12 teaching experience a plus.
Knowledge of Evidence Center Design and Design Thinking, with demonstrated experience applying those frameworks to the creation and design of products.
Knowledge and experience with software product management and development approaches (both Waterfall and Agile).
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience making data-driven decisions.
Ability to collaborate with marketing, research, engineering, and instructional design effectively.
Solid storytelling skills to ensure that audience understands why information matters to them and/or to the company.
Deep knowledge of language apps, language programs, and other language artifacts that use technology to enhance engagement and learning.
A passion for education and a thirst for educational innovation, specifically in World Languages. Strong understanding of latest trends, policies and best practices in education and product management.
Intellectual curiosity, an unstoppable desire to grow a business, and a positive attitude.
