Lower School Spanish Teacher

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks an inspiring Spanish teacher who supports students to be global citizens and active members of our local communities, linguistically and culturally. The Lower School Spanish program aims to introduce students to the joys and beauty of language learning while also facilitating the development of strong interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication skills, which can be applied both in and out of the classroom. This dynamic teacher will inspire students to learn Spanish and will work collaboratively with colleagues in various curricular areas across the division.
Interested candidates must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish and have a strong knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and celebrating the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world and should be committed to collaborating with colleagues. Preference will be given to candidates that have training in second language instruction and successful teaching experience in a lower school setting. Candidates should be comfortable using a blended approach based on ACTFL's standards and conducting classes primarily in Spanish while incorporating a deep focus on cross-cultural understanding.

Lower School Spanish Teacher: Job Description The Lower School Spanish Teacher reports directly to the Co-Heads of Lower School. This full-time, ten-month teaching position begins on August 17, 2021 with hours of 8:00 - 4:00 p.m. daily.
