The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Brigham Young University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, CFS-track (analogous to tenure-track), open rank faculty position to coordinate Spanish 321 (Third-Year Spanish Reading, Grammar, and Culture) and Spanish 322 (Third-Year Spanish Composition). This position may also be filled with a visiting faculty.

Duties/Expectations: The Spanish 321/322 Coordinator is a Professional-track position with a course-load of 4-4-2, or its equivalent in supervisory duties (30 credit-hours per year). While the professional position does not have a research/publication expectation, the coordinator is expected to stay current in the field through various professional development activities and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. The successful candidate must speak and write Spanish at the ACTFL Superior level. Duties for this position include:
Developing and revising curricular materials
Teaching multiple sections of Spanish 321/322 per semester
Supervising Adjunct Faculty
Training all instructors of Spanish 321/322
Supervising the Spanish writing lab
Participating in multiple advisement sessions per semester for all 321 students

Required Degree: PhD in Foreign Language Education, Spanish Applied Linguistics, or related field (foreign degree accepted). Required degree must be completed by the start date.
