Teach elementary students French national curriculum, per French Ministry of Education guidelines; classes are taught in the French language. Duties: select curriculum materials for class before start of school year, ensuring curriculum materials meet French Ministry of Education current year standards for all subjects; develop pedagogical document outlining scope and sequence; prepare weekly lesson plans and submit to Head of School upon request; prepare report cards throughout scheduled times during school year; email parents regarding classroom subject matter.
REQUIRES Bachelor’s Degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Education plus 2 full time years of experience teaching the French national elementary education curriculum in a public school in France or French overseas department, or at an Agence Pour L’enseignement Francais a l’etranger (AEFE)- or Mission Laique Francaise (MLF)-accredited school. Must have: a Level 1/First Degree teaching certificate (Premier degree Professeurs des ecoles) from French Ministry of Education (FME) and one positive inspection report from the AEFE, or, in lieu of this report, must provide letter of reference confirming teaching experience and satisfactory performance. Requires native-level French fluency, as well as solid English speaking and writing skills. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
