The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Rollins College invites applications for
a tenure-track position to teach French language courses at all levels and in other areas of expertise, beginning Fall 2020. Expertise in Francophone Africa, the African diaspora, Middle Eastern and North African Studies or the ability to teach Arabic is preferred.
The selected candidate will further the development of French curriculum by establishing collaborations with programs and departments on campus and integrating interdisciplinary approaches. Preference will be given to those with experience in study abroad, community service in the classroom and innovative teaching pedagogies. The preferred candidate will be able to make meaningful contributions and increase the diversity of course offerings across campus programs, such as African Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Middle Eastern and North African Studies and general education seminars. The teaching load is 3/3.
D. in French Language and Culture at time of appointment
Native or near-native fluency in French, English and Arabic
Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence in the liberal arts
Verifiable teaching experience and the capability to offer courses for heritage speakers and non-traditional students
