Epiphany School, a private, non-sectarian, independent PreK-5 school, is currently seeking a French Specialist Substitute Teacher for the 2018/19 school year. This role is expected to begin late August 2018 and run through early January 2019, while our current French Specialist is out on leave of absence. The French teacher is responsible for the school’s French program. This includes planning and teaching the curriculum, assessing, evaluating and supervising students, managing the classroom and its supplies and resources, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, and participating in robust professional learning and school community events.
This is a full-time, exempt, academic year position.

Planning, teaching, and assessing academic and social-emotional curricula in collaboration with faculty, specialist teachers, and the academic administration.
Assessing student learning and growth through culminating projects and use of formal and informal assessment tools and progress reports and communicating results to families and administrators.
Effectively using technology to maximize student learning.
Establish and manage classroom culture based on mission and values of the schools
Manage classroom environment, resources and annual budget
Implement basic technology in the classroom
Communicate with families and maintain language web page
Provide lunch and recess coverage and arrival and dismissal duties
Participate in professional learning opportunities at Epiphany and in the greater education community
Participate in school admission, development, and community events
Participate in committees and provide input on school decisions

Must hold a bachelor’s degree in French language or French Studies, or coursework in French, preferred, or related field, as well as a teaching certificate.
Must have French teaching experience
Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice.
Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.
Computer savvy in Windows environment, including MS Office.
Must be smart, warm, motivated, organized, and process-oriented.
