The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD is seeking candidates for an immediate opening for a full-time Spanish teaching position. The position would run for the duration of the 2017-2018 school year, and includes both middle and high school courses.
The ideal candidate will have native or near-native Spanish proficiency and 3 or more years of successful teaching in a variety of language levels. The candidate will be a dynamic teacher with a proven record of enacting ACTFL standards in his/her everyday instruction. Candidates should have strong classroom management skills and should feel comfortable working with a range of learners. Preference will be given to candidates with a background or strong training in second language acquisition and curriculum development, ability to work with technology in in the classroom, and a demonstrated commitment to work with individual students and small groups. The successful candidate will be also willing to actively participate in the life of the school.
