Adjunct - Instructor- Spanish, STEP
We are seeking language instructors to participate in our 7-year old program, as part of the New Jersey- STEP (Scholarship and Transformative Education in Prisons) consortium, where our college provides courses leading to the A. A. degree in Liberal Arts to selected people who are presently incarcerated.
The purpose of this course is to emphasize each of the four modes of expression (speaking/writing) and comprehension (listening/reading). The course is designed for students with no Spanish experience. Native Spanish speakers and students with successful completion of two or more years of Spanish (within past 5 years) cannot receive credit for this course. Course is multi-media within the classroom, and a language lab is available to supplement individual/group learning.
Masters required in area of specialty. Teaching a plus.
As an RVCC faculty member, teaching would be done at either the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, Bordentown Albert C Wagner Correctional Facility or the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale.
RVCC's starting rate and rank are commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
For consideration of the above position, please submit your cover letter, resume and an unofficial transcript online
We regret that we are unable to respond to each and every resume received. Only those candidates of interest will be contacted directly.
