Granite School District located in Salt Lake City, UT, is currently seeking two full-time Spanish dual immersion teachers. Utah has one of the premier dual immersion programs in the country because Utah's legislature has provided funding for a program that spans from elementary school through high school. The high school Bridge courses are 3000 level university credit bearing classes that are co-taught with a high school teacher and a university partner teacher.
Granite District and the Utah State Board of Education provide extensive training and support for dual immersion teachers.
This full-time teacher will teach Literacy, Science, and Social Studies in Spanish in two half-day sessions at one school. The teacher will team with an English-speaking teacher, who will teach Language Arts in English, to provide instruction for two classes of students. This is a school level position with the principal as supervisor. The teacher will be expected to collaborate with school and district personnel.
